StormBlade Shredding Technologies

From thick branches to leaves and fine debris, it handles it all effortlessly.
This comprehensive solution combines a dual-action cutting system with high-durability blades. Together, these features ensure reliable performance, consistent chip size and comfortable operation, eliminating unnecessary downtime and hassle.

PowerFlow Cutting Module

  • Optimal cutting and steady chip discharge.
The balanced drum is equipped with two blades and air blades to ensure clean, powerful cutting and a stable flow of wood chips without clogging.

  • The welded drum construction features welded flanges and internal knife pockets to form a single, rigid system. The internal blades create an active airflow that discharges the chips evenly through the chute. After welding, every drum undergoes mandatory balancing to eliminate vibrations and prevent premature wear.

It doesn’t clog at all. It discharges the chips consistently even when the branches are wet—it’s really convenient.

LineCut Blades

  • Cut longer. Hold their edge. Impact resistant.

The blades are made from AISI 4140 alloy steel, which can withstand heavy loads without chipping and will stay sharp for a long time, even when processing dry hardwoods.

  • High-impact toughness AISI 4140 tool steel is used. The cutting edge undergoes heat treatment using the HFC (High-Frequency Current) induction hardening method, combining a hard surface (60 HRC) with a ductile core. This enables the blades to withstand impact without breaking and to operate stably even under intense loads.

  • Hardened cutting edge
    (60 HRC)
  • Double-bevel edge

I was cutting dry hornbeam all day long – the blades are like new. They didn’t dull or chip. Extremely impressive quality.

Roman, Lviv Region

Stabilizing inertia flywheel

  • Perfect shredding: smooth and steady without any jerking. The additional flywheel on the drum stores energy and releases it at the moment of cutting, enabling the machine to effortlessly cut through thick branches without any reduction in RPM.

The flywheel is installed on the opposite side of the drum shaft. Its mass creates a moment of inertia, which stabilises the rotation of the cutting mechanism and reduces the load on the engine during periods of maximum effort. This enables the machine to cut hard raw materials without jerking or overloading the system.

I was feeding in apple tree branches – it didn’t stall even once. The engine didn’t even “break a sweat”.

Serhiy, orchard farm, Zakarpattia

Adjustable Counter-blade

  • It secures the branch for precise, even cuts. The adjustable, ground counter-blade holds the branch firmly in place during the cutting process, ensuring clean cuts without “chewing”, particularly when processing thin or flexible wood.

  • Thanks to its precision-ground surface, the counter-blade is installed with minimal clearance to the main knives. It can be adjusted along the slots on the chassis, enabling it to be moved closer as it wears down. This design ensures secure branch fixation and consistent shredding quality.

Willow goes through without wrapping. The chips are even, as if they were finished with a jointer plane.

ARPAL Total Protect Security Package

Security isn’t a luxury — it’s a standard.
ARPAL Total Protect offers comprehensive solutions to safeguard you and your equipment, ensuring a safe and worry-free work environment.

Certificates
of conformity
to EU standards

  • We are a trusted brand in Germany, the UK, Switzerland, Ireland, and Australia. ARPAL is available in over 20 countries, thanks to its compliance with strict EU safety standards. This technology is rigorously tested — and it truly sets the standard.

Ensuring the chipper meets occupational health and safety standards is crucial for us. Thanks to ARPAL’s certification, we can confidently put it into operation.

Serhiy, agricultural company, Lviv region.

The machinery complies with
a number of standards, including:

  • EN 13525:2020 — protection against accidental contact with knives
  • EN ISO 12100:2010 — designed for safety with minimal risk
  • EN ISO 13854:2019 — optimal clearances to safeguard hands
  • EN 1005-4:2008 — ergonomic design to prevent physical overload
  • EN ISO 3744:2010 — noise levels below 80 dB, ensuring comfort during extended use
  • EN 55012:2009 — electromagnetic compatibility; does not cause radio interference

These standards are more than just a formality. They ensure safe operation, precise control, hand protection, and consistent material feeding. ARPAL represents a mindset that values not just productivity, but also the people who operate the machine every day.

PowerGuard protective friction clutch

  • This system protects the motor from overload if you accidentally load a branch that exceeds the permissible diameter into the chipper. Rather than “killing” the motor, the chipper simply stops without damage.

  • A friction clutch of ARPAL’s own design is installed on the motor shaft. If the cutting unit is overloaded, the clutch automatically disengages the motor from the load. This prevents sudden motor stoppage and helps prolong its service life.

A few times it happened so that the branch was just too big. The engine didn’t stall — it simply idled. You remove the branch and carry on. It’s smooth and stress-free.

Mykola, private gardener.

An extended hopper and
a Quick Stop safety handle

  • You simply can’t reach the knives — the hopper is designed to make it physically impossible. And if anything goes wrong, just press the handle and the engine stops immediately.

  • The input hopper’s depth and design comply with European safety standards for garden machinery. The emergency stop handle is conveniently positioned on the edge of the hopper, ensuring it is always within easy reach.

  • Quick Stop safety handle

Finally, a device that truly keeps everything safe. You don’t have to worry about it catching your sleeve or glove. The protection is designed down to the smallest detail, so you can work calmly.

Maksym, Equipment Operator.

Protective shields and curtains

  • All hazardous elements are fully protected with guards, preventing accidental contact with the belt or flywheel. Yet, when maintenance is required, accessing these parts is quick and convenient.

  • The transmission components (clutch, belt, and pulley-flywheel) are enclosed within a double-sided casing for enhanced safety. The hopper allows crushed raw materials to be ejected in one direction only, minimizing the risk of injury. Additionally, the input is equipped with a protective curtain to guard against flying chips.

When I work, I don’t worry about my hands or clothes. Everything is closed. If I need to remove the casing, it’s quick and easy — I don’t have to spend an hour disassembling the equipment.

Taras, landscape designer.

ErgoBase functional design

ARPAL shredders are designed with convenience, durability, and smart functionality in mind. Simply switch it on, and it works — no complicated settings or adjustments needed.

Easy Start friction clutch

  • Smooth start with no jerks or strain – the engine fires up effortlessly and seamlessly.

When started, the engine revs without engaging the chopper mechanism. The clutch engages smoothly only once the engine reaches around 1500 rpm, at which point the entire cutting mechanism begins to rotate.

>1500 rpm
Clutch engagement

For example, if a branch gets stuck and needs to be removed, the blades can be rotated easily since they are not connected to the engine. Similarly, when starting the engine, there is no need to rotate the entire mechanism — only the engine itself.

Adjustable Discharge Deflector

  • The wood chips land exactly where you need them. Thanks to the adjustable deflector on the discharge chute, you can set the discharge direction precisely — into a cart, a container or directly onto the ground. You can change the angle in seconds without any tools.

  • The deflector is secured by two hand knobs for easy manual adjustment of the discharge angle. With a discharge height of up to 760 mm, the chute makes it easy to load chips into most standard containers, eliminating the need for redirection or manual piling.

Simple and convenient. I set the direction, and all the chips fly straight into the cart. No need to clean up after the job is done.

Vitaliy, “Yablunevyi Sad” Household, Vinnytsia Region

Reinforced input hopper

  • A robust bunker built to withstand impacts. During operation, branches frequently hit the bunker walls. Therefore, we designed it to be as rigid and deformation-resistant as possible

  • The hopper structure is reinforced along its perimeter with additional stiffening ribs and a supporting channel, while the attachment to the cutting module features a 6 mm-thick steel flange. This design prevents deformation or settling over time.

Not some flimsy tin shed — the bunker is solid. It can take a hit and hold.

All-Metal Body and
Convenient Transportation

  • Durable frame and easy to maneuver. The steel body is designed for heavy-duty operation, and the large pneumatic wheels make it easy to move the wood shredder, even over hilly terrain. It is convenient to transport—simply tilt it and pull by the handle.

thickness

The frame is made of 5 mm thick steel. The drum is positioned inside with minimal clearance, creating a powerful air-flow for consistent chip discharge. The unit is fitted with two 400 mm diameter pneumatic wheels and a support leg for stability during operation. The design is engineered so that the center of gravity is balanced during transportation, allowing the shredder to roll effortlessly. Thanks to its compact dimensions and the ability to remove the top input hopper, the wood shredder can be transported in vehicles such as a Fiat Doblo or VW Caddy.

I transported it in a Fiat Doblo – it fit like it was made for it. And it rolls easily around the yard, even over the grass.

Powder coating

  • Long-lasting protection — no rust or peeling. The coating stays strong, vibrant, and intact without fading or cracking over time.

  • Polymer powder paint is applied using a static charge and then baked at high temperatures, forming a dense, durable, and long-lasting protective coating.

Customers often send us videos after 3–4 years of use and it is hard to believe the feedback — the wood chipper still looks as if it just rolled off the production line.

Not a single tool needed

  • All components are easily unscrewed and removed by hand — no keys or screwdrivers required. Maintenance can be carried out effortlessly, without any additional tools.
