Wood Chippers

Professional ARPAL wood chippers for processing branches and wood waste

Wood chippers are designed for processing wood waste by cutting branches, slabs, laths, slats, boards, and other by-products of woodworking. Branch shredders convert raw material into pieces with an average length of 10 cm. This output is an ideal fuel for solid fuel and pyrolysis boilers, fireplaces, stoves, and other heating systems. Firewood produced using a wood chipper can also be used as raw material for charcoal production. Due to the large fraction size, this firewood stores well, does not rot, and does not require special maintenance or drying.

Operating principle of a wood chipper

The main working unit of a wood chipper is the cutting module. It consists of two plates with shafts fixed between them. The shafts are connected by gears that transmit torque from the engine through the drive shaft to the working shafts of the chipper. Each working shaft is equipped with three blades. During operation, the shafts rotate in opposite directions, pulling in and simultaneously cutting the raw material.

Applications of wood chippers

Wood chippers can be used by:

  • municipal services
  • farms
  • forestry enterprises
  • arborists
  • wood processing companies
  • local councils and municipalities

Wood chipper productivity

Wood chippers can be used by municipal services, farms, forestry enterprises, arborists, wood processing companies, and local authorities.

ARPAL wood chippers can deliver productivity of up to 12 cubic meters of finished product per hour. The actual performance depends on the quality of raw material preparation and the number of operators.

Drive types

Wood chippers are available with three types of drive. We manufacture chippers with the following drive options:

For gasoline-powered wood chippers, we install WEIMA engines with power ratings of 7, 16, and 18 HP. These engines are known for their reliability and strong service support in Ukraine. All gasoline models are equipped with special protective clutches that safeguard both the engine and the chipper from critical overloads.

Electric wood chippers are equipped with motors rated at 4, 11, and 18 kW, all featuring thermal overload protection. For PTO-driven chippers, the minimum required tractor engine power starts from 18 HP.

Wood chippers offer two methods of discharging finished material:

  • into an output hopper for packing into 50×80 cm mesh bags
  • onto a conveyor for loading directly into a truck body or big bag

Chippers can be either mobile or stationary. For example, trailer-mounted units can be transported directly to the work site, significantly reducing the cost of transporting bulky raw materials.

Safety system

We have carefully designed safety systems for working with wood chippers. All infeed hoppers are constructed in such a way that the operator cannot physically reach the cutting elements. Some models are equipped with a safety handle that immediately stops the machine when pressed.

Inside the infeed hoppers, transparent PVC curtains are installed to protect the operator from wood chips during operation.

The quality of our wood chippers is our top priority. We perform full quality control at every stage of production. Metal processing is carried out on modern CNC machines, all critical surfaces are precision-ground, and the machines are coated with durable powder paint.

Energy independence and practical benefits

Wood chippers are designed to simplify and make more accessible the processing of branches and wood waste, helping reduce the use of gas and other increasingly expensive natural resources.

When choosing a wood chipper for regular use, consider the volume of raw material, type of drive, and required productivity. The price depends on the configuration and technical specifications.

By purchasing an ARPAL wood chipper directly from the manufacturer, you receive an official warranty, service support, and expert consultation on selecting the right model for your needs.
