T2 cardan shaft with friction clutch. Protection for the chipper and tractor.
For reliable and safe operation of the branch shredder, it is recommended to connect it to the tractor via a T2 class cardan shaft equipped with a friction clutch.
The cardan shaft with a friction clutch protects the tractor and shredder components from overload.
If the blades get stuck (for example, when a branch that is too thick or hard gets caught), the clutch activates and removes the load. Instead of breaking or damaging the tractor, the shredder temporarily stops.
This allows you to:
- avoid expensive repairs,
- preserve the tractor’s gearbox and PTO,
- extend the service life of the equipment.
The friction clutch consists of a set of friction discs that are pressed together by bolts with springs.
The tension of the springs regulates the engagement torque. When a critical load occurs, the discs begin to spin, thereby disconnecting the transmission of torque from the tractor to the shredder.
After the cause of the blockage has been eliminated, the system continues to operate in normal mode.
